Bar Masking







1. You need to set the stage of the image size. We have taken the following image for the bar masking effect.

2. Open flash and create a new file.
3. Import image to stage.
File > Import > Import to Stage
4. Fit the image on the stage using Align command if you want to do this with precision. This goes as follows.
Modify > Align > Left
Modify > Align >Top
and then,
Modify > Document > Select Contents in the Match
Insert frame on 60.
5. Rename the image layer to Image. Lock the image layer.
6. Add one layer. Name it as Mask. Keep it selected.
7. Select rectangle tool and draw the rectangle with no stroke over the image to cover it fully.
8. Right click on the rectangle and select Break Apart.
9. Using selection tool, make the slices of the rectangle as shown below. No need to be precise for the dimensions of slices.

10. Once finished, select the sliced rectangle and convert to symbol using F8. Select Graphics for option type and name it as bar.
11. Select Mask layer. Insert Keyframe on 60th frame.
12. Select the first frame on the mask layer and shift the rectangle to the top as shown below.

13. Keep the first frame selected on the mask layer and change the Tween property to Motion.
14. Right click on the mask layer and Select Mask.
15. Export movie using File > Export > Export Movie



Clock (Rotate)
1. You need to draw a ring for clock. Checkout Rings Project of Corel DRAW to get the idea of drawing rings.
2. Create a new file of 160 X 160 Pixels
View > Rulers
View > Grid > Show Grid
View > Grid > Edit Grid (10 X 10 px)
3. Drag the horizontal & vertical guide lines to get the center.
View > Guides > Lock Guides
4. Draw the circle. Select Paint Bucket Tool. Create the gradient in the fill palette as shown below.

Fill the circle with the gradient.
Draw another circle inside the ring and fill it with white color. Select the white colored circle with the Arrow Tool and delete to get the transparent ring.
Draw another small circle as a center of the watch.
5. Create a 2nd layer and draw short hand on the layer.
Insert > Convert to Symbol
6. Create a 3rd layer and draw long hand on the layer.
Insert > Convert to Symbol
We need to rotate the long hand twice the speed of the short hand.
Select 3 rd layer. Select long hand
Modify > Transform > Edit center
Drag the center at the bottom of the hand.
Repeat the procedure for short hand too.
Basic Artwork
7. Select 3 rd layer. Rightclick on the 40 th frame. Select insert keyframe. Click anywhere between 1 to 40.
In the frame palette, select motion tween. Rotate CW for 2 times.

8. Select 2 nd layer. Rightclick on the 40 th frame. Select insert keyframe. Click anywhere between 1 to 40.
In the frame palette, select motion tween. Rotate CW for 1 times.

9. Save the file

Color Animation





1. You need to change the color at the specific interval for this project.
2. Create a new file.
View > Rulers
View > Grid > Show Grid
View > Grid > Edit Grid (10 X 10 px)
3. Drag the horizontal & vertical guide lines to get the center.
View > Guides > Lock Guides
4. Create the shape or get it from any symbol font. If it is font, break it apart.
Modify > Break Apart
5. Select the shape.
Insert > Convert to Symbol
Basic Shape
6. Insert Keyframe at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 & 60.
Reduce the size of the shape at 10, 30 & 50.
Create motion Tween.
Timeline
7. Select the 10 th frame.
Modify > Frame
Select Effect tab.
Select Tint from drop down menu.
Change the tint color.

8. Keep on changing the color at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 & 60.
9. Save the file.




Move & Fade



1. For Move & Fade, create new file.
2. Type the text and convert into symbol. Right click on 60 th frame and select insert key frame.
3. Select 1 st frame. Drag the text to the right.
Select 60 th frame. Drag the text to the center. Change the color of the text using tint from the effect palette.
Create motion tween.
Basic Artwork
4. Right click on 80 th frame. Insert key frame. Fade the text using alpha.
5. Create second layer. Copy the symbol. Drag the layer below the 1 st layer.
6. Right click on 80 th frame. Insert key frame.
7. Select 1 st frame. Drag the text to the right, of the previous text.
8. Select 80 th frame. Drag the text to the extreme left.
Timeline
9. Create motion Tween.




Fade & Change

1. Create new file.
View > Rulers
View > Grid > Show Grid
View > Grid > Edit Grid (10 X 10 px)
Drag the horizontal & vertical guide lines to get the center.
View > Guides > Lock Guides
2. Type FLASH & POINT separately using Text tool. Convert them into symbol using F8 key. Bring FLASH to the center of the stage.
Basic Text
3. Insert keyframe at 5. Keep the same text for 1 to 5 frames.
4. Insert keyframe at 15. Select 15 th frame.
Modify > Transform > Scale or select scale icon from standard toolbar
5. Stretch the text.
Time Line
6. Fade the text using fade method.
Create motion Tween from 5 to 15.
7. Insert Blank key frame at 16. Drag the POINT at the center.
8. Insert key frame at 25.
9. Stretch the text at 16 th frame and fade the text.
Create motion Tween from 16 to 25.
10. Insert keyframe at 30. Keep the same text for 25 to 30 frames.
11. Insert keyframe at 40. Stretch the text at 40 and fade it.
Create motion Tween from 30 to 40.
12. Insert Blank key frame at 41. Drag the FLASH at the center.
13. Insert key frame at 50.
14. Stretch the text at 41 th frame and fade the text.
Create motion Tween from 41 to 50.



Text Masking effect





1. Open flash and change the document to 450 X 150 Pixels. Change the document color to black.

2. Draw rectangle and fill it with radial gradient fill. We have changed the radial gradient using 
Window > Color

3. Select the rectangle and convert it to symbol using F8.
4. Press F6 at 60th and 30th frame. Apply alpha to 1st and 60th frame. Reduce the rectangle to smaller size using free transform tool.
5. Apply Tween. You will get the following animation.
6. Create a new layer in the timeline and Type the text. Try to use thick and big font to get the proper effect. Add gray color to the text. We won't be making any changes to this text.
7. At this stage you will get the following animation.
8. Right click on the top layer where the text is situated and select Mask.

10. The text will be displayed only where the gradient gradient rectangle animation is overlapped.

11. Export movie using File > Export > Export Movie



Moving Image Masking





1. Prepare the image for flash with proper size that will fit to the size of the text. We have selected following image.

2. Open flash and Import image on the stage using 
File > Import > Import to Stage
3. Adjust the image to the stage if necessary. Keep the image selected. Convert image into symbol using F8.
4. Press F6 at 60th frame so that we can apply motion tween to move this image.
5. Apply motion tween.
6. Press F6 at 20th frame and move the image towards left as shown in the following figure.

7. Press F6 at 40th frame and move the image towards right as shown in the following figure.

8. The timeline will show keyframes as below.

9. The tween will give following image animation.
10. Add new layer and draw circle on the stage in such a way that it will occupy the image properly all the time during its movement..

12. Right click on the top layer where the circle is situated and select Mask.

12. The layer in the timeline will show the changes indicating masking.

13. The image will be displayed only where the circle is overlapped and since the image is moving and circle is steady, you will see animation through circle.

14. Export movie using File > Export > Export Movie



Shape Tween Part 1





1. You need to draw different shapes with different colors.
2. Create a new file of 160 X 160 Pixels
View > Rulers
View > Grid > Show Grid
View > Grid > Edit Grid (10 X 10 px)
3. Drag the horizontal & vertical guide lines to get the center.
View > Guides > Lock Guides
4. Select Oval Tool. Choose fill color. Stroke color should be none. Draw the circle.
5. Rightclick on the 5 th frame. Select insert keyframe to keep the same shape for next five frames.
6. Rightclick on the 15 th frame. Select insert Blank keyframe.
7. With the help of Line Tool (green marked) and Paint Bucket Tool (red marked) draw shape and fill it with different color.

8. Click anywhere between 5 to 15
Modify > frame
Frame Palette
Select 'Shape' in the Tweening drop down menu.
9. Rightclick on the 20 th frame. Select insert keyframe to keep the same shape for next five frames.
10. Rightclick on the 30 th frame. Select insert Blank keyframe.
11. Select Rectangle Tool. Choose different fill color. Stroke color should be none. Draw the Rectangle.
12. Click anywhere between 20 to 30
Modify > frame
Select 'Shape' in the Tweening drop down menu.
13. Keep the same shape till 35 th frame.
14. Rightclick on the 45 th frame. Select insert Blank keyframe. Copy the circle from 1st frame and paste it on 45 the frame.
15. Click anywhere between 35 to 45
Modify > frame
Select 'Shape' in the Tweening drop down menu.
All the shapes should be carefully placed at the center of the stage. Use guidelines and grid for this purpose.

16. Save the file.



Shape Tween Part 2



1. You need to edit the shape for this tutorial.
2. Create a new file.
View > Rulers
View > Grid > Show Grid
View > Grid > Edit Grid (10 X 10 px)
3. Drag the horizontal & vertical guide lines to get the center.
View > Guides > Lock Guides
4. Type 'LOOK' with proper size and font.
5. Select Subselect Tool (white marked). Click on the inner border of 'O'. It will display the anchor points.

6. Drag the bottom anchor point little upwards for both 'O'.

7. Take the help of grid and guidelines to edit the shapes uniformly for both 'O'.
Timeline
8. Rightclick on the 5 th frame. Select insert keyframe.
9. Using Arrow Tool drag the shape little towards right.
Editing Shape
10. Click anywhere between 1 to 5
Modify > frame
Frame Palette
Select 'Shape' in the Tweening drop down menu.
11. Rightclick on the 10 th frame. Select insert keyframe.
12. Using Arrow Tool drag the shape little towards left.
13. Tween the frames from 5 to 10 using shape tweening.
14. Select 1st frame. Copy the frame. Paste it on 15th frame.
15. Tween the frames from 10 to 15 using shape tweening.
16. Save the file.


Shape Tween Part 3




1. You will morph the first text into next in this tutorial.
2. Create a new file.
View > Rulers
View > Grid > Show Grid
View > Grid > Edit Grid (10 X 10 px)
3. Drag the horizontal & vertical guide lines to get the center.
View > Guides > Lock Guides
4. Type 'FUN' with proper size and font. Select the text and convert it to symbol using F8. Delete the text on the stage.
Base Text
5. Type 'JOY' with proper size and font. Select the text and convert it to symbol using F8. Delete the text on the stage.
6. Drag FUN from the library. Place it to the center of the stage.
7. On 10 th frame insert Key Frame. Insert Blank Key Frame on 30 th frame and drag JOY on the stage. Adjust it to center.
Time Line
8. Insert Key Frame on 40. Insert Blank Key Frame on 60 and drag FUN again on the stage. Adjust it to the center.
9. Select 10th frame. Press Ctrl+B twice to break the symbol apart. Repeat the procedure for 30 th, 40 th and 60 th frame.
10. Click anywhere between 10 to 30
Modify > frame
Frame Palette
Select 'Shape' in the Tweening drop down menu.
11. Also tween the frames from 40 to 60 using shape tweening.
12. Save the file.


Simple Masking







1. You need to set the stage of the image size. We have taken the following image for the simple masking effect.

2. Open flash and create a new file. If you know the image size you can create the file of the same size. Hence we have created the file of 300 x 225 pixels.
Modify > Document (change the size to image size)
3. Import image to stage.
File > Import > Import to Stage
4. Fit the image on the stage using Selection tool. You can also use Align command if you want to do this with precision.
5. Rename the image layer to Image. Lock the image layer.
6. Add one layer. Name it as Mask. Select it and draw the circle using Oval Tool below the image with no stroke. You can use any color for fill.

7. Select circle and convert to symbol using F8. Select Graphics for option type and name it as Circle.
8. Select Image layer and insert frame on 20th frame.
9. Select Mask layer. Insert Keyframe on 20th frame. Keep the slider on 20th frame. Drag the circle on the top of the image.

10. Select the first frame on the mask layer and change the Tween property to Motion.
11. Right click on the mask layer and Select Mask. The timeline will look like following image.

12. Export movie using File > Export > Export Movie


Text Masking with Image









1. Prepare the image for flash with proper size that will fit to the size of the text. We have selected following image.

3. For this particular animation we don't need to convert the image to symbol because we are not going to make any changes to the image.
4. Press F5 at 60th frame to keep an image stationary for 60 frames.
5. Create new layer in the timeline and type the text at the top. Try to use thick font to get better effect. Keep it selected.
6. Convert the text into graphic symbol.

7. Select 60th frame on the top layer where the text is placed and press F6 to insert the Keyframe.
8. Drag the text down and apply motion tween.
9. If you play this animation it will be regular, simple animation with a text moving over the image.

Using Alpha





1. You need to make the object transparent in this project.
2. Create a new file.
View > Rulers
View > Grid > Show Grid
View > Grid > Edit Grid (10 X 10 px)
3. Drag the horizontal & vertical guide lines to get the center.
View > Guides > Lock Guides
4. Type the text on the bottom layer. Insert frame on 50 th frame to keep the text for 50 frames.
5. Create second layer. Draw the ball with green color. Convert into symbol.

6. Animate the ball with up and down directions at the regular intervals.
Timeline
7. We are going to make the ball transparent.
8. Select 10 th frame. In the Effect palette, select Alpha. Make it 70 %. The ball will become semitransparent.
9. Change the alpha values to 50, 30 & 10 for 20th, 30 th & 40 th frame. The transparency will increase with the decrease in the values.
Effect Pallete
10. Bring the ball back to its original position on 50 th frame and change the alpha value to 100% .
11. Save the file




Color it Masking











1. Prepare the image for flash with proper size that will fit to the size of the text. We have selected following image.

2. Create a black and white version of the same image.

3. Open flash and Import black & white image on the stage using 
File > Import > Import to Stage
4. Adjust the image to the stage if necessary so that it will fit to the stage. Press F5 at 60th frame.
5. Create a new layer. Now import colored image on the stage using 
File > Import > Import to Stage
6. Please make sure that the colored image fits exactly on the black and white image without any error.
7. Create the third layer. Draw rectangle that will occupy the whole stage. Keep it selected and convert it to symbol using F8.
8. Press F6 at 60th frame. Shift the rectangle at the for 1st frame and at the bottom for 60th frame.

9. Apply motion tween for the rectangle. The result will be a simple animation.
10. Now right click on the top layer where the rectangle is situated and select Mask.

Wave Effect





1. You need to draw scenery for this project. You may get some idea with Sunset project in corel DRAW about drawing scenery.
2. Create a new file of 160 X 160 Pixels. Make five layers. Name each layer by double clicking on it.
Timeline
3. Select the respective layers and draw the artwork.
Basic Artwork
4. Draw the ship Convert it into symbol. Create its reflection. Change the color of the reflection. Group both the ships.
Ship
5. Using Radial Gradient, draw the wave effect and place it in the middle of the lake.
Fill Palette
6. Reduce the size of the wave and fade it to invisible.
Wave
7. Select Tree, Mountains and Sky_Water layers and add 80 frames to it.
8. Select Ship layer. Drag the ship towards the left for the first frame and towards right at 40. Create Motion Tween.
9. Select Waves layer. Add keyframe at 25, 60.
10. Scale it to zoom at 60. Make it visible using Alpha. Create Motion Tween.
11. Add keyframe at 80 and make the wave invisible again using Alpha. Create Motion Tween.
12. Save the file.



Zoom & Fade






1. Open new file.
View > Rulers
Drag the guidelines at the center and lock them.
Change the background color using
Modify > Movie
2. Type the text. Convert into symbol and insert key frame at 25.
3. Fade the text using Alpha at 1 st frame and drag the text in the center at 25 th frame. Stretch the text with scale. Create motion Tween between 1 to 25.

4. Insert key frame at 40.
Timeline
5. Insert key frame at 65. Fade the text at 65 th frame. Create motion tween between 40 to 65.
6. Insert key frame at 75. Keep it as it is to get the blank screen for 10 frames.
7. Create second layer. Drag it below the first.
8. Select Oval Tool. Choose outline color. Select no color for fill. Create circle.
9. Convert the circle into symbol. Resize it to small at 1 st frame and big at 75 th frame.
10. Fade the circle at 75 th frame. Create motion Tween between 1 to 75.


Shape Tween Masking











1. Prepare the image for flash with proper size that will fit to the size of the text. We have selected following image.

3. For this particular animation we don't need to convert the image to symbol because we are not going to make any changes to the image.

6. Press F7 on 20th and 40th frame to add rectangle and polygon respectively. Apply shape tween between the shapes.

8. If you play this animation it will be regular, simple shape tween animation with a shapes changing over the image.

Text Color Masking





1. Open flash and take a document size of 475 X 150 Pixels. Draw red rectangle filling the whole stage and convert it to symbol using F8.

2. Press F6 at 60th frame. Drag the rectangle to left at first frame.

3. Apply tween and you will get the following result.
4. Create new layer in the timeline and type the text at the top. Try to use thick and bigger size font to get better effect.
5. No need to convert this to symbol as we are not going to make any changes to the text.
6. Right click on the top layer where the text is situated and select Mask.

Zoom Effect








1. You need to set the stage of the image size. We have taken the following image for the zoom masking effect.

2. Open flash and create a new file.
3. Import image to stage.
File > Import > Import to Stage
4. Fit the image on the stage using Align command if you want to do this with precision. This goes as follows.
Modify > Align > Left
Modify > Align >Top
and then,
Modify > Document > Select Contents in the Match
Insert frame on 60.
5. Rename the image layer to Image. Lock the image layer.
6. Add one layer. Name it as Mask. Select it and draw the circle using Oval Tool at the center of the image with no stroke. No need to be specific for center. You can use any color for fill.
